that is exactly how scared i am of something happening to lefty. i think she needs a break, and since we won't be cycling again til october :o(, i thought we may as well give the ol girl a break.
now, my RE office doesn't do down-regulation of any kind. and you KNOW i couldn't make this monumental decision without
so i ask you, if i take the pill until i cycle again, how does that affect antral follicle production? i will stop taking the bcps in september if that will hold lefty back from an oct cycle.
of course, i could wait and ask at my aug 30 appt, but that would require patience, of which i have none.
case in point, i need to go tend to my potatoes which are now boiling over on the stovetop. thanks in advance.!

hmmm, my antral follicle count before my first ivf was 10 on each side. i've been on bcp's for a full 2 months (so less than the 3 that you want to go on), and my count at the beginning of this cycle was exactly the same.

I ain't no doctor, but it makes logical sense to me!
Studies show that taking birth control pills does delay the onset of menopause, so clearly it does help you save your eggs for later...

I have no idea...I never put a lot of stock in AFC because mine would be on the lower end and I'd still get a ton of eggs. Of course, they weren't great eggs so who the heck knows :)
I did better each time with IVF.. the longer I was on BCP's before. Hope that helps... I was on BCP's for 2 months this last round and It looks like I have 15 Folli's right now
I don't know about that. I have a really low AFC, but was always on BCPs before cycling as part of my protocol so it probably can't hurt?
I wish I could help more but I have never taken birth control pills for a cycle before. I am crossing my fingers and toes for you. Go October!!!! I hope you can enjoy this down time for a while, relax, and not think so much abou tttc for a bit (as if that is possible)
